I’m thrilled to announce that we will be open for pick your own flowers in July 2025 at my small farm in Connecticut.
Almost everyone likes to look at flowers. I always feel better after I’ve walked the rows of flowers, carefully studying them and selecting just the right blooms for the bridal bouquet I’m making, or simply to display in my home. I’m amazed that flowers are meant to attract bees, birds and butterflies to pollinate them, and yet we humans also enjoy their beauty. Flowers reveal the common thread connecting all life on earth.
Flower picking is the perfect activity to connect with your significant other, your kids, your friends or simply to connect with nature and your own inner peace. An afternoon in the flower fields, followed by a picnic or a romantic dinner is the perfect date night. Your kids can come here and enjoy the spectacle of thousands of colorful flowers in bloom, and they can learn about farming. If you want to spend time with friends, flower picking is the perfect activity to switch up your usual get togethers. It’s also incredibly peaceful and relaxing to enjoy some quiet time picking flowers by yourself. Flowers are a beautiful form of self care.
Here are the details on how to pick your own flowers here. We will be selling tickets up to two weeks in advance of the days we are open. You must purchase a ticket on our website to attend. One ticket admits up to two people over the age of twelve to come and fill a small bucket of flowers. Kids 12 and under are free when accompanied by an adult with a ticket. If you’d like to pick additional buckets of flowers, you can purchase them upon arrival. We will fill the bucket with water and supply you with snips. You are welcome to cut as many flowers as you can fit in your bucket. Upon picking your flowers, you can visit our wrapping station to package your flowers for a safe journey home, including a wet paper towel on the cut stem ends to keep them hydrated.
We expect to have the following flowers for U-pick: zinnias, cosmos, dahlias, snapdragons, scabiosa, sunflowers, agrostemma, celosia, marigolds and bachelor buttons. Flowers are seasonal and subject to weather and pest issues. I will do my best to keep the ticket website updated with which flowers we will have for your ticket date, but we can never fully guarantee that we will have any specific flower.
